Fall is here in in New England and it truly is such a beautiful time of year. Cool weather, leaves falling and changing color, and the smell is really such a cool thing to experience. I sometimes forget how many people come here across the country to see the magic that happens around us. Each year I look forward to decorating our front door entryway. I have always felt like your home is a reflection of who you are and what better way to welcome in someone than having touches of fall around you upon entering š Their are so many different ways you can decorate for this season and here is how I have done it year after year. I stick with a few of my tried and true staples and they never steer me wrong.
I started doing something a few years back that I HIGHLY recommend! I mix faux pumpkins in with real ones. 95% of the pumpkins I use on the front step are faux and then I buy only 2 or three real ones. I usually like to buy the specialty pumpkins. If you aren’t familiar with what those looks like here is an example below. They remind me of fairytale pumpkins and what I love about them is that they look so different than the typical orange pumpkins you tend to see. These are so unique looking but they add up and can be really expensive because they are sold by weight per pound and these are quite dense. The picture below is what they look like:
My four go to favorites for the fall entryway are:
- Hay Bale
- Fall wreath
- Cornstalks (I get two for each side of the door)
- Mixing in faux/real pumpkins
- Miniature white pumpkins for above the door
Like anything you decorate have fun with it. Their is no right or wrong with what you use and no matter how simple or elaborate you make it look it will remind everyone of the season we are in.
